Faith
Al Mumin Primary and Secondary School offers a nurturing, safe and inspiring learning environment where pupils are supported to achieve academic excellence alongside strong Islamic character.
Children are encouraged to develop a deep love for Allah (SWT) while receiving a high-quality education that prepares them for life. Our pupils grow into confident British Muslims who proudly represent the faith, values and culture of Islam within the wider society.
At Al Mumin, strong Islamic belief underpins the emotional, social and spiritual development of every child. Daily Qur’an recitation is a valued and consistent part of school life, helping pupils develop fluency, reflection and a deep spiritual connection with the Book of Allah.
Morning lessons dedicated to Qur’an translation allow pupils to understand the meanings of the verses they recite, nurturing hearts and minds through the love of the Qur’an and guiding them to apply its teachings in their daily lives.
These practices have a positive impact on pupils’ behaviour, focus and spiritual wellbeing, fostering calmness, discipline and moral awareness.
Daily prayers and Islamic Studies are embedded within the timetable and reinforce the strong Islamic ethos of the school. Through religious study, reflection and discussion, pupils develop a secure sense of identity, purpose and belonging within the school and the wider community. Establishing routines that include salah and Qur’an recitation offer stability and structure.
Regular assemblies further enhance this learning, covering important Islamic occasions and events such as Ramadan, Eid, the life of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and key moments in Islamic history, allowing pupils to deepen their understanding and strengthen their connection to their faith.
Pupils are taught to value the contributions of others and show respect for people of all faiths and backgrounds. They are encouraged to show care for those less fortunate and actively participate in charitable initiatives and fundraising activities, learning the importance of service, generosity and putting faith into action.
Guided by Islamic principles, pupils develop humility, self-discipline and strong moral character, promoting social harmony and positive relationships within the wider community.
Fundamental British values—including mutual respect, tolerance, democracy, the rule of law and individual liberty—are embedded throughout the curriculum.
Parents can be confident that their children will flourish into well-rounded, confident young Muslims, fully prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.
